The natural result is that thofce men who fely all the year round, on wharf work now find that some work which would in the ordinary course be theirs is going Hio new members. Because of this thje loSql union approached the Employers' Federation with a request that the number of members of the union 'foe limited. The union contends that there is insufficient work offering at present for those permanently engaged on the wharf and no more men should be allowed into the union. The local branch of the Shipowners' Federation has decided to consult headquarters as to the position.— Press Assn.
