THE ART OF DISPLAY.
| A novel ddftionstration of the power ; of advertising backed up by display is l at present being illustrated in Whangarei. That advertising, judiciously handled, is a great force is freely admitted on all sides, but, to emphasise what is being brought under a reader's notice ?a the daily Press, Messrs W. D. | and H. 0. Wills. ,the well known to- ; bacco merchants and manufacturers, are lauuehing a "display drive," o? in other words "show your goods" campaign. Outside of the principal cities of the Dominion, Whangarei was chosen as the first* provincial town, and any person walking along the shopping thoroughfares cannot fail to be Attracted fry the splendid exhibition of Wills' goods in the various tobacco vendors' shops. The colour schemes have been delightfully conceived and the contrasts delicately marked, the whole having a very pleasing effect to the eye. The various brands of to* baccos and cigarettes handled and manufactured by the firm are nicely r.rranged. Samples of Three Castles, Country Life, Players, Capstan, Garrick, Westward Ho!, and Bears No. 1, peep out from vantage points.
The various displays bring home to devotees of My Lady Nicotine that Wills.' goods are -what is claimed for them, besides reflecting the aptitude of the firm's display artist, Mr E. W. Watson. The "display drive" is being carried out under the jurisdiction of Mr R. A. Brown, travelling representative, and Mr W. H. Jenlcins, sales manager, Auckland. 142
