DECLARED "BLACK"
HUNTER COMPANY'S STEAMER.
PROTRACTED WRANGLE!
(Received 11.5 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day.
An unexpected development occurred in the dispute' which has been in existence since November last between the Maritime Unions and the Hunter RiVer Steamship Company. As a result of a conference between the unions it was dccided to'declare "black" the company's vessel Hunter, which is at present: in Mort's dock, for overhaul.
An immediate effect of the decision
was that when members of the Painters and Dockers' Union were called on to perform certain work on the vessel they refused to do so.—A and N.Z.
