GOLD IN SCOTLAND
A certain quantity of gold has la been found in some Highland stres writes a London contributor to "Daily Despatch." One man, washing for the preci mineral in a couple of streams not north of Ivildonnan, managed to over £20 worth in one week. Ho w< ed quietly, and nobody in the nei bourliood suspected what he was ter. It is reported, however, t washings can only be done at long tcrvals —so that the dust can cumulate — and that the gold c tains so much silver that it is re! electrum.
