MALOJA AGROUND.

PART OF CARGO LIGHTERED.

REFLOATED UNDAMAGED

ADELAIDE, This Day.

The P. and O. liner Maloja, which left Adelaide on Thursday for England, ran -while navigating the harbour, fortunately on a sandy strip. The English cricketers, who were aboard, were taken ashore and some of the cargo was lightered. Prolonged efforts were made by tugs to get the Maloja clear and eventually she waß refloated, not having sustained any damage, and resumed her voyage. It i-s believed that the mishap was due to the vessel failing to answer her helm readily—A. and N.Z.
