CRICKET.

VICTORIANS SUCCESSFUL. WIN BY TEN WICKETS. INVERCARGILL, This Day. The cricket match between Victoria and Southland was continued in beautiful weather. The wicket was very fair, but the outfield was a, trifle slow. The attendance was 1000.

Continuing their first innings, the visitors brought their total to 188 for two and a half hours at the wickets, the: small total being due to Southland's fielding, which was good, especially the catches of Sheriffs and A. Hamilton and the fowling of Poole, Sheriffs and Goodsir, which were a pleasing feature of the game. Victoria's first innings closed for 188 (Mayne 35, Ellis 13, Liddicut 37, Willis 24, Hartkopf 11, Austin 21, Millar not out 16). Goodsir took 2 wickets for 47, Poole 1 for 41, Sheriffs 5 for 37 and L. Lynch 1 for 25.

(Southland in the second innings wade 67 (J. Lynch 21). Ebeling took 4 for 20, Austin 1 for 8, Hartkopf 3 for 6, Millar 2 for 19,

Victoria, wanting 41 to win, made them them without the loss of a wicket (Austin 23, Willis 17) and won by ten wickets—Press Assn.
