RUATANGATA NEWS.
SINCEBEST SYMPATHY. The sad intelligence of the passing away of Mrs Young was received in this district with the deepest regret. Sincerest sympathy was expressed for the bereaved relatives in their sad loss. Mrs Young spent her girlhood days in our midst, receiving her education at the West school. The deceased was the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Wilson, who for many years followed fanning pursuits here, later at Clevedon and now at Ruakaka. A large and representative gathering paid their last tribute of respect at the graveside in the Ketenikau cemetery on Thursday afternoon last, when the Rev G. W. Lochore conducted the burial service. INDICATIONS OF RAIN. A good rainfall is much needed and for the last week the indications overhead have been very promising and with the barometer steadily falling it will be disappointing if it fails to materialise.
SURPRISE PARTY. A pleasant evening was spent at Mr and Mrs Roy Grantham's residence last Wednesday, in the form of a surprise party. Gomes and dancing quickly and happily passed the evening away all too soon.
