MART REPORT.
Messrs Thomson, Bagley and Co. report -as follows for the week ending August 23:—Another consignment of Sturmer apples arrived in good condition and met with ready sale. As expected, potatoes have taken a decided rise. For grain aijd chaff prices are very -firm. Weaner pigs are in 4ceen demand, but practically none are offering. A consignment of lioney from Waipu was, eagerly sought after at market rates. A small offering of poultry brought very satisfactory prices.
Grain and Produce. —Prime Blenheim chaff, G. 8.0.5., £13 10/ per ton ex store, £13 ex truck (to arrive early September); Australian £12 15/ per ton. Canadian oats 6/6 per bushel, maize 8/3, g.w.f. wheat 8/3, bnin 14/6 per 150, sharps 23/6 per 200, Palmer 's mixed grain 7/9 per bushel, Southern potatoes 12/ per cwt., onions 25/ per cwt. Fruit. —Sturmer apples, A grade 14/6 per case; lemons 8/; sweet oranges 6/6 per half-case.. Vegetables. —Cauliflower 3/ to 8/9 per dozen, cabbage 2/6 to 6/, swedes 3/6 small sack, pumpkins 5/ per sack, knmeras 2d per lb, carrots 2/ per dozen, beet 2/Bacon 10Jd per lb, hams Honey—Choice 21b tins 1/7, 61b this 4/.
