WHANGAREI SPRING SHOW.
OCTOBER 29 AND 30.
With only two months to go cbnsider--able activity is now being shown by ex* hibitors in making preparations for the! Spring Show under the auspices of thq Whangarei A. and P. Society. The schedule is in the printer *4 hands and will be mailed shortly. Those who do not receive a scheduleare requested to make early application , for one. An innovation in the schedule thia year is full information with regard to train arrangements and with respect to detraining stations, etc. Further* Jt information for the guidance of ex- T*V hibitors is printed in the form of stoclc " rates and passenger fares to the Show, This should be of great value to exhibitors in estimating the cost of travel* ling, and exhibiting". Mr. W. U. Timewcll, when donating a eup for beef suitable for export, remarked farmers had not fully recognised the value of top-dressing their pasture. This contention is being upheld by various firms interested in topdressing mixtures as an aid to increasing the vitality of pastures. The Auckland Farmers' Fertilizer Company, Ltd., has supported its contention witK a donation of half a ton of manure aS a prize in the class for beef suitably for export.
