I BEAM WIRELESS. i DAYLIGHT DEFICIENCY. ADMIRALTY RETICENT. (Received 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, August 24. The Admiralty is unwilling to disclose the experts' reports on beam wireless, but states unofficially that if experience proves that it is inoperative; in daylight it will obviously be relatively valueless compared with superpower, which is operative for the whole 24 hours.

• ■Marconi's informed the Australian Press Association that beam wireless had already proved operative throughout daylight, although restricted in capacity; nevertheless day ranges had already proved reliable and not inconsiderable. The beam was constantly improving, particularly when the sun was in low altitudes. They were hopeful in the near future of giving a continuously efficient daytime service, even when the sun was in high altitudes.—A. and ]S T .Z.
