THE FORDSON.
DEMONSTRATION" PLANNED.
On Tuesday next at 1 p.m., on. the farm of Mr. H. W. Ellis, at Maunga* tnpere, a Demonstration of the qualities of the Fordson Tractor will be? given by Mr. W. Keynolds, of the Whangarei Engineering Coy. For intensive farming the Fordson Tractor excels. Mr Fuge is a very satisfied user and he states that the work a. Fordson gets through; especially in connection with ploughing, discing and harrowing, is remarkable. In eight hours with the Fordson, lie ploughed acres as against 2J acres with horsesj disced 26" acres against 9 acres; har-y rowed DO acres against 6 acres. Til , the last instance, he used tines as against four-leaved with horses. Under the heading of other uses, the information is perhaps surprising, for Mr. Fuge employed Ms Fordson to blow the forge-fires in his smithy, rescue motor cars, pull down. buildings, and to bring in the cows for milking. As he puts it, his Fordsoa. "saved him a darned lot of walking. , * It would appear that the locality \ti which his farm was located, so far as (•lass of land is concerned, presents a . logical market for Fordsons. the average farm being 150 acres in extent, level, and composed of hard ground. 60£
