TAXATION CLAIMS.
BIG OWNERS LET OFF. (Received 11.35 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Ministry has decided to appoint a Commission to inquire into the allegations made by Mr Sculling against the Government that the Taxation Department is not. pressing claims for taxation against big land owners, one of whom Mr Scullin says owes the country £100,000. He claims that there is £2,000,000 in land tax and the same amount in income tax outstanding.—A. and N.Z.
