Mrs. W. D. Hamilton is leaving shortly for Taranaki to be present at the wedding of her brother.
Mr and Mrs H. Wilsher recently returned from their honeymoon spent at Palmerston North, Napier, Wanganui and various otiier places of interest to the happy couple, and were tendered a welcome home last Saturday evening by the residents of the district.
Mrs. F. A. Yatcs, teacher of the West school, met with quite a satisfactory response by way of a subscription list for funds to build a tool-box in connection with the school garden implements, etc. Mr. W. G. Birdling recently purchased four nice quality Jersey cows, as a foundation upon which to build up a good herd of milch cows. The engagement is announced of Miss Brown of Moengawahine to Mr. Shopperd. Mr. J. A. S. Mackay's modern new dwelling at Moengawahine is now fast nearing completion and is quite a progressive step for the district, homesteads are few in this and adjacent districts to the large area of first class land under occupation.
