At. this latter meeting it is gratifying to note that Rfm. J. P. White of Whangarei secured the championship and to him the club extends its congratulations. It is also a matter for congratulation that in all team matches taken part in during the past year* the. club's representatives have been unbeaten.

"A field day. was held during the year at which the members of the Whangarei Gun Club were entertained and a very enjoyable time spent with the clays and targets.
"An important adjunct to the year's operations was the commencement of ! miniature rifle sho'oting. A re- ! turn match is to be arranged for an early dnte. "The standard of shooting has greatly improved during the year, which must be attributed to taking part in outside meetings and the fact that, members are taking their shooting m'ore seriously. '' The coming year augurs well for the club and it is to be hoped that a big increase in membership will be noticeable on the opening date. "In conclusion I wish to express my sincere thanks to tho executive officers and the hon. secretary for the able assistance accorded me during the past year.'' ■
