CHARGE AGAINST KAIRE
SUPREME COURT HEARING.
, (Special to "Northern Advocate. ,, ) • AUCKLAND, This Day. ' At the Supreme Court this morning I William K&ire appeared to answer a ' charge that on v July 4 he broke and entered the premises of Robert Whitelaw, at Kamo, stealing therefrom a j cheque book valued £2; also that on' the J same date he wns guilty of arson in setting fire'to the store. Accused, represented by Mr Singer, pleaded not guilty. The evidence for the prosecution was similar to that given in the Lower Court by R. Whitelaw, R. Howie, W. King and Mrs John Bain. The case is proceeding. ACCUSED ALTERS PLEA. ARSON CHARGE WITHDRAWN. AUCKLAND, This Day. On the resumption of the Court after the luncheon adjournment Kaire pleaded guilty to breaking and entering, and the Crown withdrew the charge of arson. Accused was remanded for sentence I'll Saturday. His Honour indicated i'i;il it might help Kaire if the money he had collected by cheques were recovered before passing sentence.
