REDUCED TO ASHES.
HOTEL PREMISES,
WANGANUI, June 27
The Wlaitotara Hotel, containing I' 3 rooms, was completely destroyed by fire at 10 o'clock last night. There is no fire-fighting apparatus in the township, and. the flames, fanned by a strong northerly wind, reduced the place to ashes within half an hour. Had the wind been in the opposite direction the township would have suffered severely.—Press Assn.
