FEDERAL MIGRANT SCHEME
(Received 12.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. "With the return to Australia of Senator Wilson, who has been negotiating with the British Government regarding migration, it is expected that Mr Bruce will shortly be in a position to announce the terms of a new agreement. If an agreement is signed nearly forty millions sterling will be available for developmental work jn the Commonwealth during the next ten years. In its present form the agreement provides for payment of half of the interest by the British Government for a period of five years and one-third of the interest for the following five. The Commonwealth pays one quarter of the interest and the States themselves the remainder. The money will probably be raised at 5 per cent. —A. and N.Z.
