WHANGAREI HIGH SCHOOL.
OLD. PUPILS' REUNION".
THK ANNUAL BaLL.
The fifth annual 'call promoted by the Wihangarei Old Pupils' Association was held in the Town Hall hist evening, and proved to be one of the leading social functions of the past 12 months. There were over 300 guests present, and a most enjoyable evening was spent, although the floor, in spite of careful preparation, was; not a? good as usual. The decorations had been tastefully carried out in the school colours by a party of Old Girls and the High School flag iand-black , and gold streamers were the basis of the schemie. The Arcadia oreehstra played a good programme of music for the varied dances, and extras were contributed by Mrs McLennan's orchestra during the period when a dainty supper, provided by the ladies, was served at three sittings upon the stage. The delicious trifles, salads, and other edibles, and the claret cup were by their quality a tribute in themselves to the ladies who had prepared them. The duties of controlling the dances were effectively and unostentatiously performed by Messrs C. E. Woolley, president of the Old Pupils' Association, H. Jones, G. Bethell and H. E. G. Smith. To them and to the ladies who worked so enthusiastically is due in largo measure the success achiever upon a most happy occasion.
