The Hikurangi juniors play tlioir final match against Hora Hora at the recreation ground on Saturday next. They hope to give their opponents a hard go and will try to beat the undefeated team. The Hikurangi fifteen | will he selected from the following players: —Gr. Kerr, S. Harris, R. Hamilton, A. Wilson, W. Wyatt, C. Fyfe, L. Ball, B. Martin, F. Jackson, D. Wells, E. O'Callaghan, P. Hart, J. Howe, S. Smith, L. Doel, W. Wedge and E. Cunningham. During the season the junior team has won three matches, having defeated High School 10—9, Whakapara "13—5 and Hikurangi B 33—0. They have drawn twice with Marsden ant! once with Whakapara. The two defeats suffered were Hora Hora 9 —o, and High School .10 —9; points for 77. against 45, championship points 9. The Hikurangi senior team has Avon five matches, three against High School Old Boys and two against Maungakaramea. The three defeats were sufferer! agaiust Kamo; points for 70, against 59, championship points 10. It is understood that a seven-a-side gnnie, Hikurangi v. Tvamn, for possession of the senior Maurer Cup will be played at Kensington on July 5. The Hikurangi team will probably lie the same as the one which took partin the King's Birthday tournament. At the recreation ground on Saturday the Hikurangi schoolboy team played a fifteen from Whananaki. After a very interesting game the visitors from the seaside proved the. victors. winning by (I points to ". The footballers' dance, in aid of the Rugby Queen, held in the Public Hall on Friday evening, was quite a success. There was a large attendance, including people from Whangarei. The receipts at the door totalled over £12.
