UNBEARABLE LONELINESS,

SYDNEY, This Day. v i Mrs Audrey Tonks, a recent arrival from New Zealand, was found dead in a flat at Coogee with her head inside the stove and the gas turned on. It is also believed that she had previously taken a strong dose of poison. She left a letter stating that , her lonliness was unbearable. It has been ascertained that her husband went away on Thursday while Mrs Tonks was out. He left a note saying: "I will return in two days," but he did not come back. The deceased was much depressed.—A. and N.Z.
