NEARLY SHARED BY OTHERS. VAIN RESCUE EFFORTS. NAPIER, This Day. A child named Allen Wilkinson, years of age, was drowned in the Ngaruroro River at Give yesterday afternoon. The child's grand-mother and mother made brave efforts to rescue the child, and thev as well as a man who went to their assistance narrowly escaped meeting a similar fate. They were taken out of the water in ail exhausted condition. The body of the child was recovered later. —Press Assn.
