EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. THE ASSAILANT'S MOVEMENTS. (Received 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The inquest in connection with the Botanic Gardens tragedy has opened. The Coroner decided to hold inquests on the victims and List collectively. Edward Kewley gave evidence that he saw List in the Domain an hour before the shooting. He said he saw a young man identical with List's photograph sneaking round a tree and looking at a pair of lovers during the evening prior to the shooting, and on the afternoon of the tragedy the same man asked him the time and then walked towards the gardens. Ho was not carrying anything.—A. and N.Z.
