Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. Many old friends in Whangarei of Mr S. Rawnsley, senr., will regret to hear that he is at present an inmate of a private hospital in the city, where he has undergone a .serious •operation to his left leg. It is hoped, however, that the limb Avill be saved. -As Mr Rawnsley has reached the advanced age of 72 years, the matter •causes his friends considerable anxiety.
Mrs A. Purdie, who recently was compelled to enter hospital in Auckland owing to a serious nervous breakdown, has made a splendid recovery. She is still very weak, but is rapidly regaining strength, and before long should be quite restored to her normal health. At present she is spending a holiday with Mrs Sandford (her sister) in Heme Bay. It is unlikely, however, that she will resume the strain of business for some little time.
