HISTORIC VERDUN.
UNDERGROUND MANUFACTORY. HUNDRED DEAD BODIES FOUND. (Received 1 p.m.) PARIS, December 2. Over 100 bodies of German soldiers were found in a tunnel dug during the Battle of Verdun The tunnel, which contains a complete plant for manufacturing mineral water such as was supplied to the German troops, extends from Morte Homme Hill to Bethencourt Village. The th.eory is that the Germans were surprised and suffocated in a gas attack—A. and N.Z.
