ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING.
The annual meeting of St. Andrew's Church was held on Ivlondav evening, the Rev. W. H. Ilolloway presiding. The secretary, Mr Iv. Mcßeth, read the balance sheet, showing a credit balance on the year's transactions of £120 Gs Sd. The Sunday School superintendent and "Busy Bee" Guild instructor reported good work and much progress during the year. A special vote of thanks to the ladies who carried out the sale of work so successfully was carried by acclamation. Votes of thanks were duly passed to and acknowledged by the various church officers of the past year. The Church Committee for the ensuing year consists of the Rev. W. H. Holloway, Messrs G. Cross, E. Nelson (elders) ex-officio, and Messrs C. Kerr, F. Mcßeth, J. Rutherford, H. Tipton, .T. Fvles and K. Mcßeth. A social gathering terminated the meeting. .. ■ EUCHRE SERIES. The cucha - e party was well attended on Tuesday evening, the following being the prize-winners:—Ladies, Mrs Fugli; men, Mr H. Coles. BILLIARDS. The following are the last results of the snooker tournament being played in Mr H. Jackson's billiard salooii. — A. Ruff v. F. Litte, 50—40; W. Over v. W. Pickles, 44 —!'5; A. Tunstall v. S. Over v. A. Arneil (to be played). ARBOR DAY. Monday (Arbor Day) school children were busy planting native trees in the | grounds. This -will in some way take bareness off the ground and also provide welcome shelt r in the summer months.
