There were exciting Scenes at the Royal Albert Doeks. Thousands of strikers attempted to prevent 25 meat vans entering the doeks. The police were forced back until reinforcements

rushed up in motor cars and lorries and succeeded in dispersing the crowds. The vans entered the doeks by another route. —A. and N.Z.
