Chinese bandits near Chuho, in Yuiir nan Province, captured Mr Darcy Wetherbe, a,British mining engineer.
Steamers'(arriving at Ichang, at the head of steamer navigation on tho Yangste River, report that American and British steamers under escort of the American gunboat Monocracy were subjected tQ lmavy fire near ChungKing. The gunboat returned the fire, inflicting heavy damage. —A. and N.Z.
