GRADING DAIRY PRODUCE.
FEES PRESCRIBED.
An Order-in-Council in last week's Grizctte amends the regulations under ithc Dairy Industry Act, 11)08, prescribing fees for the grading of dairy produce. The Pee for grading butter is fixed at 1.03 d. per box <;!' butter of standard uze, and the fee for grading cheese at 1.04 d. per crate. In the ease of butter or cheese forwarded 'for export from a registered factory, creamery, or private dairy, the fee is payable by tho manufacturer on demand. 1 Where ii is f;nu)d that the total amount paid or payable in resper-t of grading fees in ::ny year ending March '31 exceeds the cost, ns determined by the Minister of .Viniculture, of the dairy-grading service, including the salary and expenses of the Government dairy produce oliieer in London, the Minister n.ny credit to the payers of fees, towards the ;'ees payable bytliem during the next s-ucee:!din"g year, the amount p:<id er pr.yable in excess- of such cost, in the proportion in which each payer ronl ributed towards the fees, paid or. [>."y;;b!<% during the period in question.
