A rather good story was told hv the Rev. Clyde Carr. at Christchurch recently (states a Christchurch exchange) in the course of his sermon at the Linwood Congregational Chureh. An old Scots minister was being farewiotlled. They had been trying to starve him out for a long time. He was given a handsome present, and many more handsome things were said. On rising to reply he remarked that he had no idea he had been so much appreciated, and on mature thoughts had decided to remain with them a little longer.
