AMUNDSEN EXPLOIT.
TRAVERSING NORTH POLE. RELIEF EXPEDITION BASE. (Received 1.10 p.in.) COPENHAGEN, June 14. The Norwegian expedition for the relief of Captain Armundsen's North Pole flight has established a base at Danes Island on the northwestern extremity of Spitzbergen, where the harbour is fairly free of ice. The hydroplanes made several successful trials, landing on the snow. —A. and N.Z.
