I NAPIER PARK RACING CLUB. WINTER MEETING. __ ° NAPIER, This Day. Glorious weather prevails for the opening day of the Napier Park Racing Club's winter meeting and there is a large public attendance. The course is holding. Results.— Moteo Hack Hurdles, of 150 sovs; ©ne mile and three quarters. —Nuknmai, 9.6, 1; Toa Taua, 10.3, 2; Mountain Peer, 9.8, 3. All started. Kilanea ■fell. Won by four lengths. Time —-'3 min 23 4-"sßec.
Petane Hack 'Steeplechase, of 175 sovs; about two miles.—'Gold, -Scene, 10.8, 1; Noble, 9.0, 2; Biritwick, 9.0, 3. Maraetotatra and Malirihead were scratched. MasteT Oriflamme fell. Won by '20 lengths. Time—4min 37 4-ssec. * Napier Steeplechase, of 400 sovs; about three miles.—Banui, 10.3, 1; First Line, 10.9, "2:; General Raven, 9.11, 3. All started. Ranui led all the way and won .by five lengths, 20 lengths -separating second and third. Time—<6m'in 39 3.saee. ■Stewards' Handicap, of 200 sovs; one mile—Haurangi, 10.8, 1; Correspondent, 10.7, 2; Barrier, 10.4, 3. All started. Won by "half a length. Time —lmin 49sec.
