The annual conference of the Now Zealand Boxing Council resolved that amateur boxers shall, when required by an association to do sign an agreement when they agree to any engagement; that in amateur bouts there shall be two judges and a referee and the referee must be outside the ring. In professional bouts the place for the referee shall be optional with the promoting body. A committee was appointed to consider a scheme to require referees to qualify for their positions. It was resolved that all officials of associations affiliated to the New Zealand Boxinr* Council shall be debarred from acting as trainers or seconds to principals in any boxing contest, and that resident professional purses shall be limited to £200, including expenses. A proposal to fix the division of purses in professional bouts was dismissed, but no resolution was carried. —Press Assn.
