WINTER SHOW COURT
A representative gathering of local residents assembled at the schoolbou.se on Thursday evening to discuss the support likely to be accorded by the district to the forthcoming Auckland Winter Show. Mr F. O. Barge, who u;;s the convener of the meeting, explained the proposal to have a Whangarei Pisl riot Court at the show, ;<nd it was unanimously favoured by all present. It is anticipated that this district will contribute many evidences of its productiveness in various branches of field, garden and general farm produce. PICNIC. The annual Maunu picnic was favoured with fine weather and a very Inrg'- gathering assembled in Mr .T. I. Wiison's paddock early in the day. The promoters and committee spared no fjains ,n making every provision for a i-eatJy hearty day's enjoyment in the open r .ir and both the young folks and adults voted it a huge success in every respect.
