COMPANIES' CLAIM MODIFIED.

LONDON, Jan. 25.
The Scottish Railway Board rejected the tclaim of the Scotftdsih railway companies to increase the standard wording day from eight to ten hours, but allowed eight hours spread over up to ten hours.
The board also rejected the iclaim to discontinue special payment for night duty.—A. and N.Z.
