Hard luck seems to be dogging the Sonoma. Captain Trask upon arrival reported serious trouble with the stevedores .it Pago-Pago.
The Sonoma, wMch Arrived with a enrgo of gold and other comiimodLtiee valued at many million dollars, stopped at Pago-Pago to load coal and other stuffs. A grotup of conviic.ts were used as stevedores. Suddenly they stormed over the vessel in an attempt to break into the treasure chests. The entire crew were needed to hold off the invaders at the point of revolvers. Nothing *\vas lost and no damage done. Th 6' .invaders were successfully driven off and the vessel arrived here safely. —A. and N.Z.
