ADDINGTON PRICES.

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

At the Addington markets there were large yardings and a good attendance of buyers. The store sheep sale lacked spirit, and only about half of the offering sold. Good fresh full-mouthed woolly ewes and lambs made 9/9, all counted, failing-mouthed cwos and lambs 5/6 to 6/6, all counted, 4, 6, and 8 tooth dry ewes 11/1, 6 and 8 tooth shorn wethers 9/10 to 11/8, shorn wether hoggets 7/6 to 8/8, woolly wether hoggets 12/6. Fat Lambs.—l 800 came forward, compared with 846 last week. Over-supply caused a drop of from 5/ to 7/ all round, although some very fine lambs were submitted. Extra prime lambs made 21/ to 26/, prime 18/ to 20/6, medium 15/ to 17/9, light and inferior 9/9 to 14/6. I For fat sheep bidding, except for primest sorts, was without spirit, and a decline of about 1/6 a head was recorded for first quality and of 2/ to 2/6 for others. Extra prime shorn wethers made 23/6, prime woolly wethers 19/ to 23/6, prime shorn 17/6 to 20/, medium shorn 14/9 to 17/, medium woolly 15/ to 18/6, inferior shorn 11/10 to 14/, prime woolly ewes 15/6 to 17/6, prime shorn 13/ to 14/, medium shorn, 10/ to 12/9, inferior shorn 7/ to 9/6.

Fat Cattle. —Extra prime steers £17 2/6, prime £12 to £15, medium £9 to £11 15/, light unfinished £6 to £8 17/6; extra prime heifers £13 17/6, prime £7 7/6 to £8 15/, ordinary, £5 to £7; prime, cows £6 to £9 5/, ordinary £3 to £5 15/; vealers, runners £4 10/, good vealers £3 10/, medium" £2 .10/; good calves 17/6 to 25/, small 5/ to 15/. Store Cattle. —Extra good 3-year-old steers £7 7s, 3-year-old £3 15/ to £5 5/, good 2-year-old £4 17/6, yearling £1 15/ to £2 2/6.

Dairy Cattle. —Second and third calvers £9 to £16 4/; extra good Holstein heifers £11 to £14 10/; springing heifers £7 to £10 10/; inferior cows and cows in milk 10/ to £3 10/. Fat Pigs.—Choppers £3 to £4 17/6, extra heavy baconers £4 17/6, heavy £4 to £4 7/6, light £3 5/ to £3 17/6, average price per lb, 6d to 7d; heavy porkers £3 to £3 10/, light £2 7/6 to £2 17/6, average price per lb, 7d to Bd. Store Pigs: Large stores £2 5/ to £2 10/, medium £1 18/ to £2 4/, small £1 7/ to £1 12/, weaners 17/ to £1 3/, small weaners 9/ to 12/.

WAIKATO STOCK SALES

The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report:—

At Hamilton on Thursday last we hal a smaller yarding of cattle and sheep than at recent sales, though pigs wexe s gain strongly represented. Beef was below last week's rates, making to £7 12/6 for best steers, lighter weights to £5 15/, light-weight cows to £3 4/. The store cattle generally were rough and inferior sorts, (but practically the whole yarding changed hands at unchanged values. Empty cows made to 30/, 2-year steers 32/, 2-year dairy heifers, Holstein, £5 7/6, .Shorthorn, £2 15/ to £4, yearling heifers, Jersey cross, £4 5/, others, £2 to £2 12/6, small 30/ to 35/. Sheep also declined on last week's rates, fat woolly wethers making to 16/3, shorn to 12/4, woolly ewes to 10/3, shorn 8/1 to 9/. Pigs were also somewhat easier in value, ibaooners making to £3 6/, porkers 37/ to £2 10/, slips 17/6 to £1 7/6, weaners 5/ to 10/.
