DAVIS CUP WINNERS
NEW YORK, April 24,
The members of the Davis Cup team "were entertained at a dinner, and presented with small replicas of the cup. The President (Mr W G. Harding) sent a message congratulating the team, and pointing out that such friendly rivalries as international tennis really help to promote good understanding between peoplebecause they afforded opportunities to appreciate and respect all those fundamentals which underlie a nat.'onVgreatngss... \r.
The British Ambassador (Sir Auckland Geddes) congratulated the Americans' because their win improved the standards of the game. He declared that Dr. D wight Davis, the donor of the cup. had builded butter than he knew, as the influences for good arising out of the competition for the cup far transcended tennis, since they made for international goodfellowship—A. and N.Z.
