WHANGAREI COMPETITION FIXTURES The special committee appointed by the Whangarei Rugby Union to draw up the programme of fixtures for the first round of the senior and junior football competitions'for the season met last evening; presentMessrs L. J. Brake chairman, EPearce, R. Worner, W. Macintosh Murray and H. J. Revell. ' The committee took into consideration and acted upon the recommendation that "home and home" matches should be played as far as possible, but otherwise the appended programme of fixtures was the result of drawing the names of the teams from a hat. The first matches of both senior and junior competitions will be played next Saturday . and the arranged last evening provide for a period of five weeks from then, as! follows.— , SATURDAY, APRIL 30. Senior Competition— United f v Maungakaramea at Maungakaramea; Kamo v Portland, at Kensington Park; Hikurangi a bye. Junior Competition—High School v Manaia at Onerahi; .Maungakaramea v Kamo at Kensington Park No. 2 ground; Hikurangi v United at Hikurangi. SATURDAY, MAY 7. Seniors—'United v Portland, at Kensington Park; Hikurangi v Kamo, at Hikurangi; Maungakaramea a bye. Juniors—Kamo v United, at Kensington Park No 2. ground; Maungakaramea v High School, at High
School ground; Manaia v Hikurangi at Onerahi. SATURDAY, May 14 Seniors—Maungakaramea v Portland, at Portland; United v Hikurangi, at Kensington Park; Kamo a bye.
