' The Wahine is still minus a stokehold crew. ! On Saturday a representative of the -Seamen's Union stated that one reason for the trouble was that the I men were often unable to obtain n supply of hot water for washing themselves- Neither the captain I nor the chief engineer of the Wahine had received any complaints re--1 gardirig water, as the matter could have been rectified in three minutes. With regard to the food the com- | plaint was not so much as to the ! quality or quantity, but the way in i which it was served- It was carried I along to the men's quarters in bulk and the 'men had to .scramble for it themselves. The representative added that 'the company had several times promised to have matters fixed, but nothing had been done. The company's officials deny that there have been any complaints regarding the faod or the way in which it was served. — Press Assn. STANDARDISED BOOTS ' ! ..
