DEPARTMENT GOING SLOW. (Special Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Education, speaking to ;i reporter yesterday, said he would not l>o able to do as much as he had liopetl this year to relievo the shortage )f school accommodation. Many nddiional teachers would be provided, but he erection of new buildirgs depended >n the finances of the country, and it vas becoming quite clear that the Education Department, like other Demtmenta, must be careful about extenditure. The Government had to niieipate a decline in income tax and "usloms duties during the next fuianial year.
