SELF-DEPENDENCE WORK. (Received 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 31. iMr John Hodg e outlined at Wigan a prospect for cooperatively the depression, by Which workers and employer a would contribute an equal sum for every iton of steel produced. The formation of this pool will produce half wages in the event of sickness, holidays or unemploymest. This would be much better than depending on ithe Govtrnment, though the latter, in view of the beneficence of the scheme, would gladly contribute to the administration of the fund.—A. and N.Z.
