Mr F. Mander, M.P., has arrived in Whangarei for a short visit.
Inspector A. T. Emerson, the recently appointed police official to the charg e of the North Auckland district, arrived in Whangarei to-day, accompanied by Mrs Emerson, and will assume immediate control.
Mr Athol M. Steadman has received advice from Auckland that he was successful in passing the final section at the recent Law Professional examinations. The s portsmen of Whangarei will unite in congratulat. ing Mr Steadman upon his qualifying as a solicitor.
. Mr and Mrs Levy left Whangarei 1 to-day for their new home in Welling- ' ton, where Mr Lievy will tak e up the ', position of relieving officer on the " General Post Offic e staff. Prior to ' his departure, Mr Levy told his [ friends when leave-taking, that he ' intended at the expiration of his servic e to return to Whangarei to ' reside.
Mr A. W. Perkins, Auckland manager for Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., has returned from a trip to England. Mr H. R. Wood, who has been relieving him, resumed his position as manager at Whangarei this week, and Mr Bra* bazon, who has been acting at Whangarei during Mr Wood's absence, has returned to Auckland. Before leaving, Mr Brabazon was presented with a suitably inscribed s.ilver cigarette case by the members cf the staff as a mark of the esteem in which he was held
