BUILDING OPERATIONS. Mr. May, who recently purchased part of Mr. J. Wakelin's property without any buildings thereon, lately procured several shops adjacent to Mr. R. Whitelaw's store, Kamo. and had them removed to his farm, wher e he is now ha vin S outbuildings erected, and a residence; will immediately follow. Mr. J. Wakelin some j few months ago had the misfortune to have a barn destroyed by fire, and I now has in .the course of erection a fine large general shed. SHOW CATTLE. It is pleasing to note that this dis- ( trict is competing for the special dairy prizes in connection with the Whangarei Show. There are also several owners wth good dairy cattle who evidently are not taking an active interest, and it is a pity from various viewpoints. WEATHER.
The swamp land is now adversely affected by the frequent rains, but when the sun's influence is experiienced in th e near future this area will "be carrying feed abundantly.
