LONDON, Oct. 18. , There was serkms rioting in Downing Street, when several thousand unemployed attempted to reach the Premier's residence. They were repulsed by the police.

The demonstrators stoned various buildings, smashing the windows. The police made 'baton charges and hurt many of the mob.

A similar demonstration took place in Trafalgar Square and was also dispersed.—A. and N.Z.
