P. Maitland, aged 77 years, was found , dead at the boardinghouse whore lie had resided lor 40 years. Among his belongings was an old box containing a considerable sum of money, including old Colonial Bank notes! The money included 361 sovereigns, 85 half-■sovereigns, eight £10 notes, live £5 notes, 269 £1 notes, and eight ten shilling notes. The total amount hidden in the box was £825. — Press Assn.
