WAIMATE, This Day, * Four inches of rain has fallen since 11 o'clock on Monday night: The ■maximum temperature is 44 degrees and the minimum 39. It is feared that losses of ewes and lambs will be iheavy. A wash-out occurred on the main* railway between Glenavy and Morven and another betiween Morven and Studholmc. The rain is now abating, and it is expected that repairs will be effected, allowing the express trains to get through tihis evening.—Press Assn.
