FIRST DAY'S RESULTS. AUCKLAND, This Day. The Avondale Jockey Club's spring meeting opened to-day in fine weather. The course is in good order and the attendance large. The following are tlhe results:— Maiden of 200 soys; six furlongs.—Regent 1, Stork 2, Poanui, 3. Scratched: Princess Bell, NgatioraMa, Ellie, Fierybrook, Miss Thelma, Miss Abbey and Lady Frederick. Won by half a length; 1-5. Grey Lynn Handicap Hurdles, of 300 soys; two miles, Cymer, 10.0, 1; Sir Agnes, 9.7, 2; Keystone, 9.10, 3. All started; Won by six lengths. Four lengths between second and third. Time—3.ss, Avondale Stakes, of 600 soys, four furlongs.—Mermin 1, Lady Violet 2, Oragia 3. Scr.: Luculla, Golden Glass-Cunning'ha.m colt. Won by two lengths. Time —islsecs.
