HIKURANGI DEFEATS KAMO
At Kamo, on Wednesday the Kamo and Hikurangi teams played a hard and fast game. Early in the opening stages a forward movement by the Hikurangi backs enabled Dunn to register the first try. The kick at goal failed. Immediately afterwards Cunningham got across for the visitors . Play of an even nature followed and the change round occurred with the score unaltered. ' 1
In the second quarter a penalty against Kamo enabled Harris to kick a splendid goal. The game livened up considerably and good tackling by both sides was a feature of the play. Kamo lads were unlucky in not scoring.
In the second half both sides were putting plenty of vim into their play, but despite several good attempts to secure scores the whistle blew with the scores unchanged, Hikurangi 9, Kamo o.'
In the losers Thorburn and Mobberly played'great games, and the latter was probably the best back on the day's play. Mr McDonald controlled the game.
