WHANGAREI BRANCH MEETING.
BALLOT URGED
LN CASE OF EMERGENCY
A meeting of the Whangarei branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers' Association was held last night ,when -tho following resolutions were adopted:—
"That this meeting expresses its satisfaction (a) f»* the Prime Minister's definite promise to increase salaries, pro rata, according to the cost of living, in lieu of his previous impossible suggestion of bonuses; (b) that if amended salary schedule, prove unacceptable, delegates to again assemble in Wellington and place objections before him."
"Further, we recognise the setting up of a board to deal with 'consequential adjustments' a step in the right direction, but consider that a definite cute fot the meeting of same should be announced immediately. The executive have our eutire confidence. We guarantee our fullest support in any measures they deem fit to adopt, but we strongly urge the continuing of the postal ballot in case of emergency."
