PICKETS MAKING "MARKS."
TRAMWAYMEN '8 DECISION,
AUCKLAND, This Day,
At an open-air meeting yesterday, which was addressed by several Labour members of Parliament, it was stated by some of the speakers that pickets would bo stationed at the railway station gates and at the entrance of Ellerslie racecourse to-day. It would be the duty of these pickets to "mark" members of trade unions attending the races and report their names to the respective organisations. They would also use their persuasive powers to enUeavour to induce intending racegoers to change their minds about going to Elleslie.
It is understood that tho tramwaymen will refuse to run race trams, but will carry out. all other duties in connection with tho tramways service.—Press Assn.
